Samsung Electronics has launched its 2025 OLED television range, introducing the S85F, S90F, and S95F series. The new lineup, which was previewed at CES 2025 and became available in April, offers a variety of screen sizes and technical specifications.

AI-Powered Viewing Experience

Samsung’s 2025 OLED TVs are equipped with its proprietary Vision AI platform, powered by the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor in the S95F and S90F models, and the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor in the S85F. These AI processors use neural network-based processing to enhance both picture and sound quality.

The NQ4 AI Gen3 processor in the S95F and S90F employs 128 neural networks to analyze and optimize image attributes such as brightness, contrast, depth, motion, and resolution. Features include:

  • 4K AI Upscaling Pro: Improves lower-resolution content by analyzing and refining details to deliver near-4K picture quality.

  • AI Motion Enhancer Pro: Enhances clarity in fast-moving scenes, particularly beneficial for sports and action viewing.

  • AI Gamma Pro: Adjusts gamma settings according to ambient lighting conditions to maintain detail in both dark and bright picture areas.

The models also include real-time picture and sound adjustments based on content and user preferences. Features such as AI Auto Game Mode reduce input lag, while the Click to Search function enables users to retrieve on-screen content information. These enhancements are designed to optimize the experience across movies, sports, and gaming.

Models and Specifications

The S95F series is available in 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch sizes and is equipped with a QD-OLED panel, except for the 83-inch model, which uses a WOLED panel. The S95F delivers a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.

The S90F is offered in 42-, 48-, 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch sizes. The 55-, 65-, and 77-inch versions feature QD-OLED panels, while the 48-inch and 83-inch models use WOLED panels. The S90F series supports up to 144Hz refresh rates.

The entry-level S85F series, available in 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch sizes, uses QD-OLED panels in the 55-inch and 65-inch models, and WOLED panels in the 77-inch and 83-inch models. The S85F supports up to 120Hz refresh rates.

Design and Operating System

The S95F includes Glare-Free 2.0 technology to minimize reflections and features the One Connect Box for cable management. The S90F and S85F use glossy screens and do not include the One Connect Box. All models are Pantone-validated for color accuracy and run on Samsung’s Tizen OS with One UI, including Samsung TV Plus for streaming and Gaming Hub for cloud gaming. Q-Symphony is supported for enhanced audio when used with compatible Samsung soundbars.

Market Context

Samsung’s OLED lineup competes directly with LG’s G5 series and Sony’s 2025 OLED models. All Samsung 2025 OLED TVs support NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for gaming performance. Samsung offers a seven-year Tizen OS update guarantee for this range.
